Who We Are

My interest in birth work began, as is often the case, with my own birth experiences. Prior to motherhood, I worked in a veterinary hospital, researched environmentally sustainable ways to raise apples in New England, and hid out in the stacks of a science library. My path, such as it was, changed dramatically following the birth of my children. I attended both the Stepping Stones to Midwifery and Barefoot Midwifery programs, as well as doula trainings through DONA and ALACE. I began attending births in 2005, and am honored to have been invited to witness births in homes, freestanding birth centers and hospitals.

Outside of birth work, I'm a homeschooling mother of two, a writer of speculative fiction, and a lifelong resident of the Pioneer Valley.
